Re-elect Cindy for Councillor
RM of Lac du Bonnet
Experience. Collaboration. Results.
Meet Cindy
Choosing Lac du Bonnet as the place to build my life, raise my family and contribute to the community is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Before settling here, my career took me across North America, where I worked in business development, senior management, finance, marketing, and project coordination. Those experiences broadened my perspective and showed me what rural communities can accomplish when they recognize their strengths, welcome new ideas, and plan carefully for the future.
I served on Council from 2014 to 2018 and was grateful to return in 2022. With more than 35 years of experience in business, agriculture, community development, governance and non-profit organizations, I bring both local understanding and a broader perspective to Council.
I believe good decisions start with listening, doing the research, and considering the long-term impact. My goal is always to help turn good ideas into practical results that strengthen Lac du Bonnet today and for the future.
MUNICIPAL SERVICE IS ABOUT PEOPLE
The best decisions come from staying connected to residents and working constructively with others.
Experience
Experience across business, marketing, governance and community development - bringing grounded, practical insight to every Council decision.
Collaboration
Good outcomes rarely happen alone. I work to build consensus, bridge different perspectives, and strengthen partnerships with neighbouring municipalities, provincial partners, and community organizations.
Results
Listening, doing the research, asking the tough questions, and turning good ideas into practical results for the people of Lac du Bonnet.
Working for our Community
Promises Made. Work Delivered.
Across both terms on Council, my focus has been consistent: identify the work that needs to be done, build the partnerships needed to move it forward, and follow through.
From 2014–2018, that included a focus on economic development, successful physician recruitment with local healthcare partners, advocacy for a new personal care home, responsible budgeting, updating local policies to improve fairness, working toward stronger regional cooperation through shared strategic plans and sustainable land use planning.
From 2022–2026, that work continued with the building of a new personal care home, another successful physician recruitment partnership, bringing healthcare training opportunities closer to home, major road and drainage improvements, over 730K in economic development funding, environmental stewardship and continued attention to responsible municipal spending.
The issues may change from term to term, but the commitment has remained the same: do the research, work with others and keep moving important community priorities forward.
What Comes Next
2026–2030Responsible growth. Sound financial planning. Strong partnerships. A healthy community.
Infrastructure & Fiscal Responsibility
- As part of a municipal team, continue to develop long-term capital plans for roads, drainage, waste management, fire and emergency protection, and infrastructure to support growth.
Economic Development - Growth and housing
- Support sustainable residential and commercial development through our joint RM–Town Economic Development Strategy, attracting investment that helps address housing needs, strengthens our economic base and creates opportunities for the next generation - helping seniors remain part of the community they built, while giving the next generation a reason to build their future here.
Healthcare, Workforce & Community Resilience
- Continue regional physician recruitment and advocate for appropriate healthcare and daycare services as our community grows. Expand local training opportunities, strengthen the workforce and continue improving emergency preparedness and community safety.
Collaboration, Governance & Accountability
- Build on stronger cooperation between the RM, Town, neighbouring municipalities and community organizations. Support transparent, respectful and fact-based decision-making while sharing services and resources where it improves efficiency and value for taxpayers.

Serving Beyond the Council Table
Effective representation means being at the table when important decisions are made.
